This striking neoclassical column table lamp is a masterful fusion of craftsmanship and elegant design, created using a variety of vintage lamp components. It is truly one-of-a-kind, skillfully constructed from an array of materials including spelter, brass, marble, milk glass, and crystal.
The lamp's foundation is a gold-toned brass pedestal base, featuring ornate claw feet. At each corner of the pedestal sits a mischievous cherub, lending the piece a sense of classical grandeur. The base is crowned with a square slab of white marble, providing a solid and refined platform for the central column. Rising from this marble base is a fluted spelter column, its antique white-painted finish evoking a sense of timeless sophistication. The base of the column is surrounded by intricately gold-toned leaves in relief, while the top is crowned with a decorative gold-tone capital, completing the neoclassical aesthetic.
Atop the column sits a Fenton-style milk glass orb, reminiscent of the fine craftsmanship of vintage glassmakers. The egg-shaped orb is characterized by its signature hobnail texture, which adds a subtle tactile element to the design and diffuses the light in a soft, inviting glow.
