The city had the worst urban fires in American history. Shortly after Terra cotta was implemented for its fireproof resiliency. This artistic tile is an incredible privately offered yet museum worthy chunk of Chicago, USA history.
With a majority of plant workers being German immigrants there is a German word or family name depicted on the lower right hand corner.
