The glass is blue opaline. … more A lovely pair (2) of Small Candleholders from he French Glass House, Portieux & Vallerystahl. The glass is blue opaline. The design is a stack of complex segments, 4 of which are variable swirls, one of which is solid and without decoration and the last is vertical stripes. The embossed segments are separated by 3 prominent solid bands. Their height is 3.5" tall and their foot has a diameter of 2". The candles that will fit these best will have a diameter of 0.5". There are marks, integrated in the glass, which are quite faint, cannot be photographed but can be perceived with good eyesight. These were made in France in the 1930s.
