Simple in design with … more Antique primitive Chinese mortised black painted and lacquered bench from the early to mid 19th century. Simple in design with robust round legs, carved spandrels, clean lines and a weathered patina revealing undertones of original red paint through the primary black color. It has traditional Chinese mortise and tenon joinery on the seat's short edge and lower portion of the double stretcher ensuring durability and sturdy construction. A fine antique with an artistic form and a time-worn, rustic character. Great at the foot of a bed, seating at a dining table or in a hallway.
