This striking pair of Brutalist table lamps is attributed to renowned designer Harry Balmer and was crafted for the Laurel Lamp Co. circa 1963. Although the lamps bear no visible markings, their distinctive design closely aligns with Balmer’s known style and craftsmanship, making the attribution credible. Each lamp showcases Balmer’s signature Brutalist aesthetic, featuring torch-cut and enameled steel to create a rugged, textural look that captures the raw, industrial spirit of mid-century design. The geometric shapes and intricate torch-cut detailing add dimensional depth, making these lamps true statement pieces.
Condition: Both lamps are in very good vintage condition, with minor restoration and rewiring recommended. One lamp is missing its finial, and both are sold without shades. The need for restoration has been considered in the pricing, offering an exceptional opportunity to own an iconic example of Brutalist design at an accessible price point.
