Description: This is a Victorian twin bed that dates from about 1850-1860. The bed belonged to the family of my great … more This is a Victorian twin bed that dates from about 1850-1860. The bed belonged to the family of my great great grandfather, Noah Furman (1825-1889), a noted stoneware potter who operated his pottery in Cheesequake (South Amboy), New Jersey, in the mid-1800s, and also had a warehouse in Peck Slip in Manhattan from which his wares were distributed. The bed was used by his son, Andrew Furman, as a child. Andrew Furman later had a successful brick kiln business in South Amboy and died in 1939.

The bed was refinished about 40 years ago and is in generally good condition with some scratches consistent with its age. Includes headboard, footboard and side pieces and six slats.

Headboard is 57" tall at highest point.
Tailboard is 32" tall at highest point.

Frame measures 80" long by 41" wide total including frame. less
