About the poster : Pablo Ruiz Picasso (25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmake, ceramicist and theater designer who spent most of his adult life in France. About the artist : Roman Cieslewicz (1930-1996) was a Polish graphic designer and poster artist known for his bold, surreal, and highly experimental style. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, he became a central figure in the Polish Poster School, a movement characterized by powerful visual metaphors and distinctive, thought-provoking imagery. Cieslewicz moved to Paris in 1963, where he worked for various prominent publications, including Elle and Vogue, while also creating iconic posters, collages, and covers for books and magazines. His work often blended typography, photomontage, and visual distortion, creating striking and sometimes unsettling images that questioned political, social, and artistic norms. Cieslewicz's innovative approach to graphic design and his use of minimalist yet impactful visuals made him a major influence on modern visual culture. His posters are celebrated for their lasting power, resonating as both art and political commentary.
