Framed in a hand-carved, gilt-wood … more Oil on canvas by German artist Paul von Ravenstein (1854-1938). Signed lower left hand corner. Framed in a hand-carved, gilt-wood frame. He studied the changes in color caused by light very carefully and depicted them in fine nuances. He loved nature and observed it very closely and was particularly interested in trees. His exhibits were shown in Karlsruhe exhibitions and in Munich, Dresden, Berlin, Zurich and Vienna. He is represented in Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, The Pinakothek in Munich and The Augustiner Museum in Freiburg. less
