The scale is accessed by lifting the front door, after which the scale can be removed which is made up of a central column which holds a perforated yoke at the end of which the weighing plates are hung. This ancient scale is of english origin, produced by the f.e. Company. Becker & co founded in 1872 in london and operated there until 1950. On the plate that we find both on the display case and on the base of the scale we find the words f. E. Becker & co – w. & j. George ltd – proprietors – hatton wall – london. It is in a good state of conservation and dates back to the first decades of the 1900s.
