The photograph depicts the Double Arch in Arches National Park, Utah, taken in the 1960s. The image captures this iconic natural rock formation in a black-and-white style, emphasizing the grandeur and scale of the arches in contrast to a small, solitary human figure below. The rugged, layered rock textures are accentuated by the interplay of light and shadow, lending a timeless and dramatic atmosphere to the scene. The Double Arch, known for its unique, intertwined structure, stands as a testament to the majesty and geological wonder of this arid landscape. Andres was born 1905 in Germany and passed away 1992. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951. The print is new, a Fine Art Print on high quality paper (Hahnemühle) made by Whitewall. It comes to you in a tube. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
