Not one. Not Two. Not four, or six… but EIGHT!!! This set of art deco style dining chairs is OH-SO-GREAT!!! They are simply SCREAMING with Art Deco EXCELLENCE flaunting those marvelous walnut toned wood frames which bear back legs that flare both backward & sideways AND curved front legs that start out narrower at the top where the arms connect, curve in and widens at the seat, and taper down and narrows toward the feet. STUNNING!!! They have a tub or bucket style seat wearing sultry black leather with brass triple stacked nail head details at each corner surrounding the seat. They have gorgeous black leather armrests which wrap around and double as the center back cushion between two red leather back cushions, creating a MARVELOUS horizontal channeled design much like a tuck & roll. The decadently deep wine-red leather exudes almost a patent leather shine and has a depth and purposeful variation or marbling in the color… it’s absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! This set bears styles after icons including Donald Deskey, Paul Frankl, and Edward Wormley but regardless, they are nothing short of MAGNIFICENT!!! And an interesting story accompanies these beauties… They were owned by David Stewart of Kansas City, Missouri who was the director of L’Omega which was an amazing art gallery stationed within a renovated 1921 service station building that Mr. Stewart says was chosen by the Smithsonian to be in a traveling show called “Buildings Reborn.” L’Omega was the home of Art Deco, Nouveau, and contemporary art objects with an objective to bring fine art to the Kansas City area. He led an interesting life filled with love for his community, travel, different cultures, and a need to support the arts until he passed away in 2011. There is a wonderful article/piece written about him in a book titled “Greater Kansas City’s Successful Single Men by Virginia Moffett & Rosalyn Jacobson. WOW!!! the stories we might hear if these beauties could talk, huh?? Imagine the wonderful dinner conversations!! They spent many years surrounding the dining table in his home and now they’re ready to grace YOUR home with their marvelous presence and create NEW stories with YOUR family!!! Oooooh! We get excited about vintage pieces and the fascinating lives they have led and stories they could tell!! Don’t you?? Obviously these chairs will be fabulous used as seating surrounding your dining table but they would also be great around a conference table, in an office waiting area, a game table, in your home office or den, or utilized as upscale side chairs for extra seating in any room.
