The standing goat has its head turned to the left and is set on a rectangular plinth with chamfered corners. The white-glazed goat is unpainted.

Goats in eighteenth-century Delftware are relatively rare compared to other animal figures such as cows, horses and dogs. Goat-shaped terrines and terrines with a goat on the lid were also made in Delft in the Rococo period (1740-1780). less
