Ottoman is very clean no damages to the hide. And yes this is the real deal horse hair hide. Ottoman might have light wear but over all very clean for its age. Stool consists of four wooden tapered cone legs that are in gorgeous vintage condition with light aged patina. This ottoman is very well built and very study and solid and sound .this bench / ottoman will make a great addition to your mid century modern collection.
