1970s Gothic Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixture

It was proudly quality-made … more This is a beautiful and near-perfect hexagonal gothic or German/European traditional style flush mount light fixture. It was proudly quality-made in 1960's/1970's in St Louis, MO USA by McFadden Custom Lighting Co. (no longer in business). This fixture had been hanging in a church until recently, and has been very well maintained.

It is made of brass or brass color metal and has 2 light sockets, each of which can take up to a 75W bulb. It has a textured glass diffuser. The way to get to the bulbs to change them is by using a decorative nut attached to the bottom edge. Twist the nut and the hinged top opens to allow access to the bulbs. I took a photo of the back so that you can see that to hang it, all that is needed is a standard screw rod -- almost certainly like the one that you already have in place.

You might note in some of the photos that I attached an electric cord to the wiring of the fixture, then hung it from a J-hook in the ceiling -- this allowed you to see the glow this fixture puts off, and lets you be assured that it is in working condition.

The bronze colored metal is in great condition -- perhaps with the tiniest amount of patina. Please note the Bavarian or Gothic design of the metal of this luxurious fixture, and how it shines both downward and to each of the 6 sides.

The fixture is 12" in diameter and is about 5 1/2" tall! less
