Vintage; C1950's Hollywood Regency era, Italian design by Osvaldo Borsani, is this gorgeous, blond oak, feminine vanity desk with attached mirror, stylized with curved or accentuated or flared legs, with a quasi-kidney shaped top. Mirror can also be removed should one desire to, as it tilts frontwards and backwards to desired location, and as one can see in backside of entire piece, the back of the mirror is wood, as well as the detail surrounding, crafted in wood trim, with brass armatures to front of mirror. Brass knob pull to front drawer, with patina, as the clients/current owners adhere to leaving patina on such pieces of distinction, for those whom wish to leave as is, or partake in having them polished. The beauty of brass and decorative metal such as polished chrome and polished nickel dictates as such as in Brass hardware. There is a glass top also included and original to the piece. The slight yet curved pr flared legs accents the fluidity of the design and craftsmanship of this piece, as well as coved sides inset/adjacent to drawer front, yet synonymous to the deep Italian Influence in Design during this period, and amongst many Designers within this diaspora, across the world. Art Deco Influence to be certain, but not the Mid-Century period, as of yet, but delineated details of the Hollywood Regency Era. There is a front center drawer with that round brass pull handle aforementioned.. This period of Italian Mid-Century Deign elevated such Furniture designers like, Gil Point, and Ice Parisi to name but a few, but elemental design elements were cross-labored throughout this period with distinctive stylization, such as on the flared or curved legs, the type of wood utilized, in order to carve such detailed elements, as well as adding mirrors to pieces, even so, this one is removable that one can use this piece as a small desk in a ladies bedroom, boudoir, or in a den and the likes.
