George Butler of Sheffield England silverplated (EPNS) cutlery from the Cavendish Collection Fiddle Thread & Shell pattern. Eight sets of 6 pieces consisting of Dinner Knife, Dinner Fork, Salad/Fish Fork, Dessert Fork, Soup Spoon and Tea Spoon. Alsp included 2 Serving Spoons.
This style was first produced around 1800 during George III and the Napolionic Wars. This set was purchased in 1981 at Blomingdale's NYC and hardly used.
Measurements: KNIFE - 9.63 inches long - DINNER FORK - 8.5 inches long - SALAD/FISH FORK - 7.18 inches long - DESSERT FORK - 6.5 inches long - SOUP SPOON - 7.25 inches long (bowl 1.63" wide x 2.63" long) - DESSERT SPOON - 5.75 inches long -SERVING SPOON - 8.38 inches long (bowl 1.78 " wide x 3" long)
Condition: Very Good. Minor wear (fine scratches) consistent with age and use. One dinner knife has a rubbed spot and one tea spoon a small corrosion spot, both photographed. Please look at all images.
