Beautiful champagne colored natural Brazilian cowhide with cream contrast is a subtle statement for any space. Monochromatic and versatile in different periods/styles of decor. We hand select each of these for color, sheen and their unique quality with emphasis on making a subtle or bold! statement in your decor. Add interest by layering on top of carpet or area rugs.
Brazil is the beef industry capital of the world of which cowhides are a byproduct. Chromium tanning is the best quality for all hair on hide and smooth leather. Cows are harvested for meat or die of natural causes. They are not harvested for the hide only. During the two World Wars, people migrated to South America for safety. Among their prized possessions, they took their livestock to survive. Thus, for multiple generations, various breeds from many countries have cross bred, creating the unique hair on hides we see today.
There are no two hides exactly alike. Breeds will be similar. Caring for a cowhide is very simple. Spills, simply clean up with blotting the spill. Vacuum sweeping or the current Roomba is safe as well. Long hair hides are a winter harvest. Short hair is a summer harvest.
Any creases that occur in shipping can be removed with an iron to the back of the hide. less
