The light relief effect is created by the different methods of treating the velvet, cut and uncut. This velvet is inspired by the tapestries “verdure” of the period and named after Louis XIV’s preferred castle located near Paris. The landscape architect for Château de Marly had created paths through the woods lined by trellis’ in order to contain the exuberance of the robust trees that filled the grounds. Pulling inspiration from these wonderful woods and tapestries of the time, Colony created the beloved Marly design.

This custom made pillow has the beautiful cut and uncut velvet verdure fabric on the front and the reverse side is made from plush dark teal mohair. With this large repeat no two pillows are alike and they are all stunning!

Verdure velvet fabric made in Italy - Fabric content: 72% Linen 18% Cotton 10% Viscose.
Genuine mohair on the reverse side.
Filled with plump 10/90 down/feather inserts.
