One of the most important Scandinavian ceramics. These so-called split jugs (due to the spout/handle design) were first designed in the 1930s and came in two sizes, this is the smallest.

An icon from the first half of the 20th century.

In very good condition and 1st sorting, and decorated with hare fur glaze in green shades (Also an extremely rare glaze color, usually they are white/beige/brownish)

Eva Staehr-Nielsen (1911-76) was one of the most influential Scandinavian ceramicists. She joined the Saxbo workshop in Denmark in 1932.

Saxbo is one of the most important ceramics workshops in the entire Nordic region (some would say the world) with the likes of Axel Salto, Jais Nielsen, Hugo Liisberg and Eva Staehr-Nielsen all producing designs for them.

She stayed with Saxbo until it closed in 1968, after which she joined Royal Copenhagen, but it's her Saxbo pieces that are most coveted. Prices have risen significantly in recent years and are only going up further.

Her work can be found in the National Museum in Stockholm, the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Metropolitan Museum in New York and many more.
