Model 1115 Table Lamp By Kandem Circa 1940s - Original brown paint - Cast iron foot with curved steel arm - Adjustable shade and arm - Original cream bakelite shade - Takes E27 fitting bulbs - Produced by Körting & Mathiesen, Leipzig - Model 1115 - German ~ 1940s - 4cm tall x 18cm wide x 34cm deep Kandem German lamp manufacturer Kandem was founded in Leipzig in 1889. from its establishment in 1919 Kandem was always closely connected with the Bauhaus school, purchasing and manufacturing many of the students’ designs. Through that connection they encountered student and designer Marianne Brandt. Brandt designed many household items including what was to become a modern classic - The Kandem Desk Light. Although the Kandem- Bauhaus relationship ended in 1933 when the school was closed, production of the lamps continued and the designs are now widely considered to be benchmarks in design history. Condition Report Fully re wired with modern electrical components, some patina and scratches to the base in places and a slight burn mark from a bulb on the inner shade
