The interior is a dark raw … more Vintage Japanese Postmodernist Ikebana Vase has a textured glazed exterior in a beige/brown tone. The interior is a dark raw siena hue. Detailing along the body of the vase with small ring cluster formations on the bottom and top. In very good condition; wear consistent with age. A low, horizontal vintage ceramic vase with woven handle from Japan (20th century). Made in the tradition of Bizen ware, the vase has a modern aesthetic with a slender horizontal form. Intentional potted rings circumvent much of its irregular surface that undulates with bulges, and indicates that the piece was built by hand. The medium brown surface of the clay was partially covered with a glaze of ochre color. The vase, with its highly sculptural form and muted color, makes for a beautiful Ikebana arrangement. And the graceful handle provides the means for moving from place to place with ease. less
