Truly scandinavian mid-century modern free-standing wall unit in teak with two cabinets, and a very practical shelf with sides. It is a completely modular shelving system “ergo” which was designed by john texmon and einar blindheim for blindheim mobelfabrikk and made in norway in the 1960s. Slightly curved cabinets make a warm impression and sculptural rails create an elegant and grand-looking statement.
additionally, the authenticity of the set is confirmed by the "made in norway" inscription on the back of one of the cabinets.
this shelving system includes:
1 cabinet 3 drawers – h: 43 cm x w: 78 cm x d: 34 cm
1 cabinet with glass doors – h: 43cm x w: 78 cm x d: 21 cm ( one small inner shelf )
1 shelf with sides h: 13 cm x w: 78 cm x d: 22 cm
1 shelf 21 deep
2 teak supports
overall, it is in very good vintage condition, especially after cleaning it and coating it with an additional layer of danish oil. The rails feature perforations to mount the wall unit to the wall.
there is minor age typical wear and imperfections, which only confirm the originality of this piece.
