Oval … more Mid 19th century center table with writing slope circa 1860. Fine quality empire period Swedish flame mahogany center table. Oval top with the unusual feature of having a fitted writing slope in the drawer. Oval top with arranged flame mahogany veneers, below which a generous apron and reeded detail. Single deep drawer to the front which opens to reveal a fitted interior, consisting of central leather writing slope with adjustable heights, which also slides to reveal further storage, flanked either side by 2 pen drawers. Shaped stem, all raised on a stunning quadriform base with scrolling feet and matching woodwork. Recently re-polished in our workshop, good rich colour. Minor restorations to woodwork, minor wear to leather surface. less
