An exceptional and authentic aubusson tapestry depicting a superb, rich and abundant medieval scene picturing an elegant woman with a flock of sheep in a wide panoramic scene. This is meant to be a replica but appears rather as a reinterpretation that is both modernist and lyrical, of a classic tapestry from the middle ages, in woven wool with superb hues that are both light, summery and intense, with a cardboard on the back detailing the characteristics and context of the edition, the title "concert champêtre", the artisan tapestry maker and publisher robert four, aubusson, france 1950.
a decor and an exceptional quality, for a tapestry that, if it is described as a replica by its publisher, must be considered as a modern and lyrical reinterpretation of the original cardboard: indeed, the joyful hues and graphic shapes that frame the image clearly evoke the lyrical abstraction and the characteristic graphics of the 1950s, transforming this supposed "replica" into a transversal work from the middle ages to modern times!
this tapestry made of old-fashioned wool heart bears the handwritten number 1815 on the back. Its large dimensions make it a historical, pictorial and warm work, both classic and modern, spectacular and very decorative.
