This smart coffee table offers understated elegance with its burr walnut veneer top, finished in a sleek high-gloss that highlights and protects the wood’s natural grain. The clean design is complemented by a black lacquered lip and underside, providing a refined contrast.
The table's tinted mirror glass base with bevelled edges adds a subtle, modern touch without overpowering the overall look. Perfect as a coffee, side, or lamp table, this versatile piece combines simplicity with high-quality craftsmanship.
In good condition with wear consistent with age, including a couple of small nibbles to the edge that are barely noticeable.
Roche Bobois traces its origins to two families, the Roches and the Chouchans. In 1950, Jacques Roche purchased the former Alexandre Dumas theatre on Rue de Lyon and opened two stores. His sons, Philippe and François, later joined him, and together they shaped the company's growth strategy. They began distributing top-quality contemporary furniture, drawing influence from Bauhaus designers like Minvielle, Steiner, and Airborne, as well as renowned names such as Pierre Paulin and Marc Berthier. Around the same time, the Chouchan family was selling furniture at their Paris shop on Boulevard Sébastopol, known as "Au Beau Bois" (later Bobois), marking the beginning of the partnership that continues to thrive today. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
