Pier Luigi Colli (1895–1968) was an Italian furniture designer and artisan, known for his distinctive blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics. Trained in both Italy and France, he founded Colli Torino, a furniture workshop in Turin that became a major influence on Italian mid-century design. Colli was celebrated for his use of luxurious materials, intricate details, and integration of artistic glass, metals, and textiles in his pieces, which embodied a modernized take on classic Italian styles. He collaborated with prominent architects and artists of his time and created furniture and decor that graced upscale residences, hotels, and government buildings.
Colli’s designs have been exhibited in major design museums, such as the Triennale di Milano, and his pieces are featured in private collections and auctions around the world. In recent years, his contributions to Italian design have been celebrated through retrospective exhibitions, highlighting his influence on Italian and European modernism. His work continues to gain recognition for its craftsmanship, elegance, and historical significance. less
