- A whimsical big Apple covered basket with a lift off lid. It really is NOT wicker--more like hemp, but that … more A whimsical big Apple covered basket with a lift off lid. It really is NOT wicker--more like hemp, but that category doesn't exist so it had to fall under "wicker". The lid has a wooden stem that functions as the handle with two large leaves in darker shades of brown. The entire piece is woven over a metal frame and has a very heavy weight in the base to prevent it from tipping over. The colors are various shades of tan, morcha and burnt umber. There is minor wear to the wooden stem but the body of the apple appears to be in very good condition. Probably dates from the 70's or 80's. Standing 31" tall, the last photo of it next to a chair gives you a better idea of just how massive it is! less
