Looking to add a touch of rustic charm to your home? This Japanese-made, antique-inspired milking stool is the right blend of history and functionality; Its authentic, timeworn finish speaks to a simpler time, but its compact, versatile design makes it an ideal addition to any interior space. These "milking stools" where originally used in dairy farms back when. The simplicity of the design made them highly functional and easy to manufacture with basic carpentry tools. As opposed to the four-legged stools, the three-leg construction became a classic choice because it provided greater stability on irregular surfaces found in farms and generally in rural environments.
The manufacturer's stamp on the underside reads "Authentic Furniture Products" which was a mid 20th century furniture company based in El Segundo, that produced various wood furniture pieces between 1951 - 1978. This piece appears to be from the 1950's-1960's. less
