Gisèle DARRIEUX was born in Tarbes (Htes Pyrénées France) she has been painting since the age of twelve, conscientiously following the teachings of her paternal grandfather, a talented painter who took her with him to the banks of the Adour where he liked to work. Subsequently, she attended, according to the travels of her father (career officer in the Army) several painting workshops, then later entered the National School of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Posts in Paris and the Ecole de la Grande Chaumière.
Passionate about her Art, she tried several techniques, moving from a realistic figurative to the abstract with the same happiness. She now lives and works in St Jean Cap Ferrat, a little paradise between Nice and Monaco, where she has been based for 45 years. For almost 12 years, she was President of the Independent Artists of Nice and the Côte d'Azur, organizing many exhibitions for members of her association from one end of the department to the other. Forced to resign from her position for very serious health reasons, she later founded the association "Cap Ferrat Art International", organizing large international exhibitions for professionals and semi-pros (more than 31 nations) and then finally created the association St Jean des Arts and the Municipal Gallery of the same name, where she practiced for more than 10 years, the illness having caught up with her, she still continues to paint a little, holding personal exhibitions every year in St Jean Cap Ferrat.
