In the past, this type of low bowl was used for serving celery, carrots & green onions which was placed on the dining table. Today, one could use the dish for bread, rolls etc. It is beautiful by itself & could be placed on a coffee table. Pretty floral design with gold gilt throughout. One very small chip on the underside of one handle. Chip does not show from the top of dish. A classic piece. See less
