Beautiful limited-edition printmaking artwork by Sicilian artist Lorenzo Maria Bottari (Palermo 1949), created using the techniques of fine art intaglio etching and aquatint on fine art paper. Lorenzo Maria Bottari was born in Palermo on August 29, 1949, lives and works in Milan.
In his life he has met great artists such as Ibrahim Kodra, Corrado Cagli, Wilfredo Lam, Giorgio de Chirico and Renato Guttuso, who in 1980 presented the exhibition “Cattedrale di Palermo” in the historic Galleria Schettini in Milan in a catalog. In 1986 Walter Schoenenberger, Director of the Lugano Museums, presented Bottari's work “The Cases of Love” in the Lugano Gallery in Lugano. In 1995 on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Rudolph Valentino, he creates a traveling exhibition in Italy and abroad, inspired by the great film myth.
In 1999 he was invited by the “Carlo Collodi” National Foundation and presented his interpretations of tarot cards with characters from the Pinocchio fairy tale in an exhibition.
In 2003 Alda Merini wrote the poem: “La luna” for L.M.Bottari, which he interpreted pictorially for Magica Luna, curated by Chicca Morone, Circolo della Stampa Torino.
Lorenzo Maria Bottari has had exhibitions in many European cities and even overseas.
In 2008 his works were exhibited at the Alessandro Manzoni Municipal Library in Pioltello (MI).
In February 2009 the Antonio Molinari Archive Cultare Association of Milan presents a Solo Exhibition entitled “Zodiacal Dreams.”
His painting and printmaking are in prestigious public collections including:
