The piece is carved in the manner of R.J. Horner and is most definietly American. The piece dates to the 1880-90s era and has a wonderful carved canopy inside the top of the cabinet. The piece does come apart into two sections. The finish is entirely original and features shell carvings and faces of cherubs as well as unique hand-hammered brass hardware. A masterpiece of American Victorian Craftmanship
