This hand painted ceramic Italian antique terracotta bowl is from the region of Puglia, Italy. The simple blue floral design around the rim is characteristic of this area. The shape is nice too. It is a bowl, but a very shallow one. This bowl shows wear around the rim which adds to its authentic rustic character. The backside is flat so it would look nice on a counter or hung on a wall. The old pottery from Puglia, like this bowl, is thick and has a rustic feel. The hand painted designs are typically very simple.
