The artwork represents a scene from La Muette de Portici, also known by the name of its hero, Masaniello, is a five-act lyric opera set to music by Daniel Auber, on a libretto by Eugène Scribe, revised by Germain Delavigne. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
