Finest Viennese Craftmanship: Under the original glass dome the ebonised oval wooden base on four bun feet, with musical mechanism … Read more Finest Viennese Craftmanship: Under the original glass dome the ebonised oval wooden base on four bun feet, with musical mechanism that plays automatically on the hour, wooden body with silver-plated brass fittings with floral decoration on the front, the top of the base edged with brass in relief, with two tall brass columns entwined with silver wire mesh and decorated with enamelled flowers and leaves, crowned by two gilded figurines supporting the cylindrical clock case, which is framed by a gilt decorative band on the front and crowned by a bouquet of flowers with two dolphins spouting water. Below, on the back, a silver plate in relief with towering rocailles, in front of which swings the pendulum on a thread suspension with a large openwork rosette with blossom and leaves. Case with brass plates, spring-wound movement, half-hour strike on a gong spiral, dial with a central pierced volute and tendril decoration, enamelled all around and with painted black Roman numerals. Movement checked by master clockmaker, completely cleaned and fully functional, two original keys present.
