Set of 8 Brno cantilever armchairs - an aesthetic object that flexes when sitting on it, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The iconic Brno chairs are constructed from tubular chrome frames in a cantilever design and feature gray (Cadet) leather upholstered thin pad seats and backs.
These were manufactured by Thonet in 1986: "Thonet secured the rights to tubular steel furniture early on and consistently preserves them. The designs of Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe are protected by copyright as works of applied art. Today, Thonet produces the classics through manual craftsmanship, with the great expertise of its staff and in combination with cutting-edge technology."
The chairs are in very good overall condition for their age. Some lack smoothness on the arms with small pitting pictured and one has a small tear that is pictured as well.
