The vessel is hand-painted with organic lines creating a figurative design. Bright bold colors of orange, pink, blue, and green are highlighted with a black background. The figures appear to float and drift on the surface. Working in his magnificent and expansive garden studio in the Santa Cruz CA redwood Mountains, Mattie Leeds (1950- ) has a strong innovative and complex style that incorporates serious spiritualism with a witty sense of humor.
