This drop front secretary desk has so many features packed into one piece of furniture. The previous owner said it … more This drop front secretary desk has so many features packed into one piece of furniture. The previous owner said it hails from the 1860’s and judging from the construction and workmanship, we believe her to be correct. The front is bookmatch mahogany and the drop front has delicate carving around the edge. There are 3 drawers. The drawers and front have the potential to lock, however we have no skeleton key.
Inside are several compartments and the writing surface is leather.
The hardware is original brass with patina.
Best of all, the legs are Queen Anne ball and claw.
A truly beautiful piece with so much storage and function!
