Stunning 1844 early victorian sugar shaker with fully hallmarked sterling silver top made by the great silversmith william moulson a very good looking well made and decorative piece, the main body is cut and the top is all sterling silver which is hallmarked as follows date letter:- j for 1844 town mark:- panthers head for london sterling silver:- sideways lion for sterling makers mark:- wm for william moulson extras:- sideways facing portrait of young queen victoria the condition is excellent so far as i can see, there are some light indentations to the top which could be pressed out, the glass has normal patination, it is 180 years old after all so we can forgive it a little patina dimensions height:- 17.5cm width:- 6cm depth:- 6cm please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask any questions please feel free to ask before you bid condition please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the around condition please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
