An absolutely stunning antique French amboyna escritoire writing desk. This was made in France, we would date it from around the 1910-20’s period.
It is beautifully designed and is of amazing quality. The amboyna grain patterns are gorgeous, this has gilt bronze ormolu mounts of the highest quality. It stands on cabriole legs and has a polished back, so can be used as a free standing item. The main drawer opens to reveal a leather topped writing surface, with additional storage space beneath. There are also two small drawers above the main writing surface.
We have had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb for its age.
