Venderdor De Jaulit translates to Cage Sellers.
Oil painting by Czech born, Venezuelan artist, Guillermo Heiter, also known as William Heiter, titled "Venderdor De Jaulit". Features a depiction of stacked cages that vendors used to sell their wares, with a single red shirt vendor. Signed:"Heiter" as well as signed on the back:"Heiter 57 Venderdor De Jaulit". CIRCA: Mid 20th
This painting was purchased from a gallery and had been in a high end art collection. The colors are dark except for the man in red. It has textured finish.
Venezuela Guillermo Heiter (1915-1971) was born in Czechoslovakia and then a Venezuelan citizen. After completing his training at the School of Applied Art and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, he joined the Studio Rotter as teacher and art director. In 1939 he opened his own studio and art school, the Atelier Heiter, in Prague, but was arrested two years later and sent to a Nazi concentration camp. He emigrated to Venezuela in 1948, starting first as a freelance artist and later establishing his own Estudio Heiter in Caracas. In 1953 he joined the advertising agency Corpa, affiliated with the London firm of Colman, Prentis and Varley, as art director and designer. He then worked as a freelance artist. Several one-man exhibitions of his paintings have been held in Venezuelan galleries as well as museums.
