This mid century piece has beautiful, whimsical clam shell lamp shade shaping and is an authentic Frederick Cooper pharmacy lamp - made in Chicago. The company was founded in Chicago in 1923 by Frederick Cooper, an artist specializing in sculpture and watercolor art. The firm was launched in response to requests from clients that Cooper incorporate his works of art into lamps. This beauty is solid brass and consists of a heavy and sturdy round base, a height adjusting center, and a swiveling clam shell lamp shade. It has a dimming switch so you can control the level of lighting and it pivots side to side, allowing you to focus light as needed. In addition, it's height is adjustable...ranging from 41"- 51". It is perfect for bedside, desk side, or couch side placement. It is in working condition and has it's long original golden colored cord. The underside of the lamp shade has the original Frederick Cooper sticker and a sticker that reads 60 Watt Max.
