The chest is made around 1810 by hand from solid pine in a classic straight model with angled corners and straight tapered legs. Well-crafted with good proportions. Do also note the decorations on the legs, it’s an unusual feature and indicates a skilled and dedicated carpenter. Minor traces of earlier repairs. Two of the locks to the drawers have been replaced during the early 1900s. The upmost lock is the original from circa 1810. The hardware is also all original and made by hand in solid brass over 200 years ago. Locks and keys are functional. Healthy and stable frame. less
