A fine antique Japanese Imari porcelain bowl.
With a white ground. Central to the bowl is a stylized Shimazu clan … more A fine antique Japanese Imari porcelain bowl.
With a white ground. Central to the bowl is a stylized Shimazu clan crest (家紋, lit. family crest) within a black and red circle that is further encircled by painted floral scenes
The exterior of the bowl has some simple floral motifs. Both the rim and footrim have painted border lines.
With the remnants of an antiquarian's label to the base.
Simply a wonderful Japanese Imari porcelain bowl!
