The tongs are in excellent usable condition and measure 15 1/2" long when closed, 11" wide when closed, and about 5" wide at the handles. The tong points remain sharp.

These heavy duty tongs were designed for use for carrying large blocks of ice, or for carrying logs. Thus, these could be used for tending a fire in the fireplace or a campfire. And, of course, due to its age and rustic nature, it would make a great display piece! less
