The botanical aspects are all made of copper and brass. The flower heads are made of fine metal threads as ethereal as dandelion poofs. Heavily textured torch cut leaves are gathered around the base. The rustic look celebrates the material and medium as much as prominently as the subject. The Brutalist style the “brut” means raw… or unfinished. While other metal sculptures are finely finished and polished, Brutalism shows the artist’s process and unadulterated nature of the material. This Brutalist sculpture shows the appropriate patina.
