The mortise and tenon joints ensure sturdy construction. The thick top slides open to reveal a storage bin once used for dough preparation, doubling as a kneading surface and ironing board. Over time, the wood has developed a warm brown patina, highlighting its natural grain. The hand-carved scalloped apron, turned legs, trestle support, and bun feet add to its charm.
