Glazed in the classic blue and white manner, the porcelain ginger jar has a classic form with rounded shoulders that taper to a narrow, slightly splayed base. Bordered by a simple meander at the neck, the jar is decorated with an allover pattern of orchid blossoms and trailing vines. On each side of the jar, the intricate decorations swirl around large painted characters for double happiness (囍 shuāngxǐ). The jar is topped with a domed lid with matching surface decoration and a flat knob painted with a stylized flower.
