This chandelier is rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes six candelabra base-size lights, incandescent or LED. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. Faint scratches on the crystal from age. A few crystal prisms have flea-bit chips (see images). Requires white glove shipping. Dimensions without ceiling cover and chain: H=24 in. W=21 in. D=21 in. 15 lbs.

This vintage Bohemian etched crystal chandelier has undulating arms holding scalloped bobeches surrounding a bulbous center column. Crafted with clear and cranberry crystal, this six-light chandelier will bring a luxurious ambiance to any room. The cranberry hue was achieved by adding selected metal oxides to the silica during melting. To achieve the colors, an incredible amount of accuracy is required in terms of proportions and timing. The details of this piece are especially gorgeous, including; etching throughout the fixture, draped crystal-beaded garlands, and long dangling crystal prisms. The faceted crystal creates an incredible lustrous quality and play of light.
Bohemian crystal became famous and sought after for the artful use of crystal, especially the cut and engraving details. The history of Bohemian crystal started with the abundant natural resources found in the countryside of the historical lands of Bohemia, now located in the Czech Republic. By the middle of the 19th century, a technical glass-making school system was created that encouraged traditional and innovative techniques throughout the region.
