John Winkler (1890-1979). "Fishmarket" Chinese etching on paper. Pencil signed by his wife Elizabeth de Gebele Ginno (1907–1991) "John W. Winkler / E.G.W."
Winkler studied at the California Institute of Arts and created his first etching in 1915. During the following years, he established a large national reputation for his etchings, the great majority being depictions of San Francisco and its environs.
